Skudo is excited to be working with Jeffco Concrete and West Construction on East Mississippi College’s Communiversity workforce development project. Skudo’s HT Commercial System is being used to protect concrete during construction of the $42+ million, 145,000 sq. ft. project which is expected to be completed in 2018. The Communiversity project represents a partnership between local K-12 schools, area industry, and the community college to provide cutting edge workforce and technical training to students. The new facility will include several new classrooms, laboratories, and a manufacturing display, along with office space, conference areas, and food service.

Skudo is on the job with Artisan Tile on the new Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan. This facility will be home ice for the NHL Detroit Red Wings and home court for the Detroit Pistons NBA team. Artisan Tile is creating a unique terrazzo floor and have chosen Skudo HT Commercial system to protect their floor during construction. The arena, which measures 360 ft from east to west and 460 ft from north to south, will total 895,000 sq ft, Maximum capacity will range from 20,380 for basketball games to 19,400 for hockey and 21,400 for concerts. Skudo is proud to be on the job with Juneau Construction for the new University of North Georgia Convocation Center. The 103,000-square foot facility will serve multiple uses, including academic courses, physical training activities, and university events such as commencement ceremonies, athletic events and meetings. The center also will have several classrooms and faculty offices in addition to the multiuse areas.

Skudo Temporary Surface Protection is featured in the new Journal of Commerce article, “Temporary floor system provides protection against unintentional construction damage.” A report by insurance giant Zurich Services Corporation identifies water damage as the leading cause of losses during construction.
